The Appl group is a family-run printing and finishing company headquartered in Wemding. With around 180 million euros in sales and 700 employees, of whom over 60 are trainees, the Appl group of companies is one of the largest printing companies in Germany. It has independent printing and binding sites in Wemding, Freising, Würzburg and Ahrensburg.
The Appl group owns 15 web offset presses. Appl Druck GmbH produces special, pocket and oversize A4, Echter Druck GmbH DIN formats. Kuncke Druck GmbH supplements the web offset area with special colors, inline processing and plano delivery.
In addition to web offset, the sheetfed offset area of the Appl. 15 sheetfed offset presses in Wemding, Freising and Ahrensburg form one of the largest sheetfed printing capacities in Europe. In 2002, the world's first large-format four-over-four turning machine was installed.
With two machines in Wemding and Freising, digital printing fulfills requirements in the area of short runs. Further processing of the printed products takes place in all locations. The cross-company pre-press stages enable technical, interactive action. In addition, a complex ERP system has been connecting clients with each other since 2008.
